American Heart Association instructor certifications follow a 2-year cycle, during which instructors must maintain proficiency in their teaching disciplines and deliver a minimum of 4 courses within that period.
Within the ATLAS Network, an instructor's disciplines are determined by the instructor eCards associated with their account. It is crucial to note that the network keeps track of expiration dates, and once an instructor surpasses their expiration date, no leniency is offered. Therefore, it is of utmost importance for instructors and Training Sites to monitor the expiration dates of their Instructor eCards to ensure a smooth renewal process.
To complete your instructor renewal, follow theses simple steps:
Pay the instructor renewal fee
The renewal process is initiated when you pay the instructor renewal fee through our online portal. The button below will take you to our online store where this can be accomplished. If you are an instructor that is teaching within an invoice location, please [contact us] and your renewal fee will be billed to your organization.
Complete the Instructor Renewal Checklist
Renewing instructors will need to complete an Instructor Renewal Checklist which documents the renewal process. This form is completed electronically and can be accessed through the button below. Our Training Site maintains consistent training records so there is no need to provide training dates or additional rosters.
Attend a Training Site Information Session
After the previous steps have been completed, a session will be scheduled with the Training Site where changes within the AHA Instructor program will be discussed and there will be an opportunity for us to review any questions or concerns in regard to the instructor process.
Periodically, the Training Site may request a skills demonstration either during an in-person scheduled course, Zoom session, or video upload. This is done to ensure that students are receiving the highest level of instruction possible.
Thats it! Once everything is done, a new American Heart Association Instructor eCard will be issued to your ATLAS Account that renews after a 2 year period.
